about me
My name is Andreas Thoupos and for the last 10 years I have
been exploring culinary arts. Coming from a Lebanese and Greek
background, food has been a vital part of my upbringing. In
both cultures, hospitality is probably more important than
food itself. The idea behind festive meals is for the guest to
feel like they are at the comfort of their own home, which
always gave a warmth to meals I have enjoyed with family and
friends . The flavours, the smells, and the colours of
prepared dishes have formed my memories and shaped my future
career. I knew I wanted to be a chef when I was twelve years
old, and I have never changed my mind.
After graduating from
Food Preparation, Culinary Arts And Restaurant
Management
studies at KES College in Nicosia, I have worked as a chef in
highly renowned Cypriot restaurants, specializing mainly in
French and Italian cuisines. Throughout the years I have also
worked as a private chef and caterer, creating menus and
cooking to the needs of private clients.
To me, being a chef is like being an artist and an entertainer
at the same time. By creating meals, I hope to provide my
clients with memorable experiences that they can share with
others.
“Cooking is all about people. Food is maybe the only
universal thing that really has the power to bring everyone
together. No matter what culture, everywhere around the
world, people get together to eat.”
